The Director is a key member of Seacoast's Finance and Accounting Team, and is responsible for corporate financial reporting activities and functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and internal control over financial reporting; overseeing the SEC reporting process; developing and overseeing internal accounting practices, including technical accounting research and new accounting policy development; and partnering with and advising business lines and other corporate functions on significant accounting matters.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.SEC Reporting:Oversee the performance of the reporting team in the timely completion of the quarterly reporting process for the organization. Coordinate with business lines and accounting teams for timely and accurate deliverables.Analyze and review financial statements and disclosures to ensure appropriate application of GAAP.Oversee financial systems, data quality, and data accessibility to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.Responsible for transactional filings, registration statements, and other SEC filings as required.Implement and monitor process improvements to manage and streamline activities.Primary liaison with internal and external auditors and regulators during audits, reviews, and examinations.Technical Accounting:Develop and maintain significant accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and consistency of application across business units.Advise the finance, accounting, and business line functions in evaluating complex issues and transactions and strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, and other financial accounting and reporting matters.Analyze contracts and agreements as needed to determine accounting treatment and own the process from analysis to recording and reporting. Work closely across all functions to discuss implications of potential transactions and strategies on financial statements.Maintain strong knowledge of accounting rules and emerging issues in assigned areas of expertise. Analyze the implications of potential rule changes to the Company's financial statements and work closely with business units to develop solutions to manage changes in processes and controls. Oversee implementation of new accounting standards.Present complex accounting matters and relevant communications and analyses to management in a succinct manner. Facilitate knowledge-sharing across the organization.Prepare ad hoc reports, financial analyses and participate in special projects.Process efficiency and strategic solutions:Work to continually enhance internal controls, maintain updated documentation of current departmental policies and procedures, and lead change initiatives, operational effectiveness reviews and process improvements.Lead SOX function for the organization, including annual scoping and risk assessment analyses. Engage business lines and functional areas to ensure controls assessments and documentation are monitored and updated.
