The Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center (Yonkers, New York) has an immediate opening for a Nurse Recruiter to join our distinguished team.
The Nurse Recruiter is responsible for the day to day administration of the HR functions related to recruitment and onboarding of Nursing Department employees. Candidate will partner with Nursing leaders to strategically and tactically address recruitment needs and effectively transition new employees; proactively identifies and recommends retention strategies; and coordinates onboarding of new employees and participates in new employee orientation.

Effectively manages all processes related to recruitment and retention.
Provides guidance to management in navigating hiring approvals and determining hiring profile for approved vacancies.
Ensures hiring assessments, post offer processing, and transfer criteria are consistent with established policy and compliant with collective bargaining agreements.
Develops recruitment plans for approved vacancies that include input from hiring manager and sources for top talent with cultural fit and requisite skill set to meet the demands of the position. Recruit exempt and non-exempt staff.
Maintains applicant tracking system and ensures data is updated in a timely fashion. Ensures data integrity of the system.
Establishes and maintains a database of potential applicants for ongoing sourcing as needs are identified.
Establishes and maintains web-based recruitment tools.
Closely monitors onboarding procedures to ensure that new employees are appropriately transitioned into the organization.
Conducts follow-up review of new hires on a periodic basis to identify retention strengths, opportunities and areas for improvement
Maintains recruitment and retention statistics and prepares reports as necessary.
Works collaboratively with managers in administering retention strategies.
Assists in conducting onboarding interviews to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Assists in employee engagement activities.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory background checking on new and existing staff. Monitors compliance with DOH guidelines for annual survey.
Ensures that employee records are complete and compliant with regulatory standards, updated as necessary and maintained for easy retrieval of information.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishes personal networks; and participates in professional societies.
Complete special projects, as assigned
Other related duties may become necessary or as directed by your department director, and/or administrator.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Current NYS Registered Nurse license
HR professional certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred
2-4 years of experience in recruitment & retention strategies in the nursing field.
Ability to communicate effectively and present to various level of management
Ability to organize tasks/projects effectively and delegate as appropriate
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite; knowledge of HRIS and ATS
