Learn more at medschool.kp.orgThe Multimedia Coordinator develops effective and engaging multimedia materials for classroom/remote instruction in consultation with instructional designers and faculty for the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. Provides technical hardware and software support and consultation for web, video, audio, and design production in multiple media delivered through multiple channels.Essential Responsibilities:Designs and creates multimedia-based or web-based layout, graphics, animation, video, audio and/or content for use in curricular materials.Provides technical, design, and creative consultation to faculty and staff. Designs and edits materials based on agreed upon plan. Acts as an expert team member.Can serve as editor, producer or technical team member depending on production needs. Advanced digital editing. Serves as videographer or still photographer for web, print, and video productions. Edits and manipulates photos, videos, and podcasts.Sources, modifies, and creates images, music, and b-roll to enhance project quality.Ensures quality by applying the principles of design (proportion, balance, space, appropriate image choice, font selection, etc.).Takes projects from concept to completion/finished project through an iterative creative and technical process in a collaborative environment; ability to work on multiple projects at once and manage competing priorities.Determines file storage mechanisms, structure, and archives, as needed; performs routine back-up of data and applications.Applies copyright laws to assets used in the production process.Other projects as assigned.Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in multimedia production, graphic design, or related field. Education Bachelor's degree in related field or four (4) years of experience in a directly related fieldHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration N/AAdditional Requirements: Advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite. Advanced skill sets in graphic design for print and web, multimedia, motion graphics, and/or animation. Demonstrated understanding and experience in managing the production process. Demonstrated proficiency with film and still cameras, wired/wireless microphones, lighting and sound set-up, and video shoot set-up. Up to date on best practices in design and implementation including accessibility, responsiveness, usability, and user-centered design. Ability to communicate technical issues in plain language. Working knowledge of file and video formats, portable document format (PDF) technologies, file transfer, and compression options. Aptitude for and interest in learning new technologies. Strong collaborative and consultative skills. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, take initiative, maintain attention to detail, meet deadlines, and stay focused under pressure. Ability to interpret, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions.Strong customer service orientation. Preferred Qualifications:Experience designing for learning and/or in an educational setting. Experience working with authoring tools (Storyline, Captivate).
