POSITION OVERVIEWThe Quality Technician is responsible for performing daily quality activities in the plant which includes but not limited to process audit, GMP audits, various in process or laboratory testing to ensure every ingredient and finished good meet product specifications. The Quality Technician is responsible for identifying quality issues, reporting them to the appropriate person and initiating the corrective action process.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS* Monitors and inspects and tests the products in process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications. Records all information and reports any discrepancies.* Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation. Reports any problems immediately.* Performs formula audits and process audits, documents audit results.* Monitors adherence to all food safety and quality programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan. Reports any problems to the appropriate Lead/Supervisor.* Assist in the investigation related to customer complaints* Promotes and facilitates safe work practices at all times. Takes appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all Dawn team members.* Performs environmental swabbing as per the schedule* Perform other duties as assigned by management* Other duties as assigned by plant leadership* Create a safe work environment by embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment where all team members are treated equally and with respect* Must be able to work in an environment where various allergens, including, but not limited to nuts, are received as shipments, mixed in ingredients, used as toppings, or baked into product.
