Review appraisals commercial properties for compliance to USPAP and FIRREA to promote the extension of commercial credit. Appraisal reports are checked for mathematical errors, reasonability of the three valuation approaches and for the quantity and quality of data. The reconciliation process in the appraisal is reviewed for relevancy and reasonableness.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Regulatory knowledge - must be able to understand, interpret and apply federal regulations, USPAP, FIRREA and internal credit policies related reviewing of appraisals and evaluations.* Review appraisal reports for sufficient data and discussion of the analytical process to understand the conclusion of the report.* Review income analysis for appropriate deductions and discounts, verify mathematical calculations for correctness.* Look for obvious inconsistencies and errors through the appraisal report.* Communicate any noted errors or inconsistencies to the appraiser so they may be discussed and resolved in a revised appraisal report.* Develop an opinion to whether analyses are appropriate and opinions and conclusions are credible relative to the requirements applicable to that work. Develop any reasons for disagreement.* Resolved any concerns lending personnel may have with an appraisal within the scope of the review process in a fair and independent manner. Communicate with the appraiser for possible revisions.* Complete scoring system on each appraisal/appraiser report with sufficient information about performance to use for annual appraiser reviews.* Possess necessary skills to effectively communicate with appraisers and various areas of the bank.* Conducts team training on appraisal reviews for lower level reviewers.* Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
