General Description The Data Engineer role at Parametric uses tools from multiple systems to transform and cleanse data from our internal application databases and 3rd party providers. They will work extensively with the Data Architects and Data Engineers to design, build and maintain data pipelines that process and route data from flat files, relational databases to from our data lake then into consumable data marts. Individuals within the Database Engineer role ensure that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, secure, and can serve multiple users. They help facilitate getting data from a variety of different sources, getting it in the right formats, assuring that it adhere to data quality standards, and assuring that downstream users can get that data quickly. This role functions as a core member of an agile team. Primary Responsibilities Implement ETL solutions using various open source tools Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and standards Produce and maintain project documentation, including technical specs and run books Serve as a point of escalation for support of production data pipelines and related processes Assist in the ongoing development of best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other data processing activities.
