The Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CPRA) supports others in recovery from substance use disorders. The CPRA will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to prevent relapse and long-term recovery. The CPRA must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.
Associates degree. Hold a NYS Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CRPA), provisional certifications will be considered. Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique pathway to recovery. Recovery Coaches must have a working knowledge of the substance abuse treatment systems, support services, and a demonstrated commitment to the Recovery Community.
Must have reliable transportation in order to provide support in the community.
Must have experience at coordinating services for or on behalf of other individuals.
Must have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and use of smartphone apps.
Must demonstrate knowledge of addiction.
