Job Summary: The System Solutions Engineer III works directly with the Business Development team and Integration Partners to provide material handling system solutions and pre-sales technical support. The position involves developing strong relationships with key decision makers, understanding the customer’s business goals, and applying smart engineered solutions to meet material flow and information flow requirements. The System Solutions Engineer III must be solutions oriented with a desire to win business as they serve as the primary liaison between the Integration Partner and Business Development.
The engineered solutions require an exceptional understanding of conveyor system design, PLC controls and micro-processors, warehouse management systems, and a myriad of other material handling equipment such as high-speed sortation, Goods-to-Person, robotics, AS/RS, picking technologies, and workstations as it relates to e-commerce, warehouse fulfillment, and parcel industries.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide quotes and proposals for Integration Partners
- Provide application advice of system related projects
- Travel to meet with Integration Partners or end users to assist in the sales process
- Work cross-functionally with other Hytrol departments to develop accurate proposals, confirm engineering or production schedules, order processors, etc.
- Responsible for clear, concise communication and record keeping
Required and Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, 5+ years of system proposal experience, expert using AutoCAD (HyCAD experience is a plus), proficient with MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), intimate knowledge of conveyor models and the proper application of each, design and integration experience with e-commerce, warehouse fulfillment, and parcel industries along with a variety of other material handling equipment, experience performing functional area an system-wide throughput calculations, and simulation/emulation experience.
