Global Education Advisor
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the
following new position: Global Education Advisor (12-month
Temporary position with benefits) in the Center for Global
Serving as a part of a dynamic team supporting campus
internationalization initiatives and a growing array of education
abroad programs, the Global Education Advisor has primary
responsibility for working with faculty/staff to develop,
coordinate and market short-term education abroad programs for
Coastal Carolina University students. In addition, this colleague
will collaborate with other campus partners in advancing best
practices and supporting policy and process adjustments relating to
education abroad initiatives. This role will work with faculty to
develop, recruit, enroll and prepare students for short-term
education abroad programs; manage program logistics, health and
safety orientations, budget, and risk response before, during and
after return. This colleague will also manage our programs abroad
for research, competition and conference travel.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. At least two years of working
experience in student affairs. Excellent written and verbal
communication and strong interpersonal skills. At least two years
of experience developing and/or managing projects or programs.
Preferred Qualifications include: Master’s degree; At least two
years of working in overseeing or coordinating education abroad
programs; Experience studying, working, or living abroad;
Experience working with diverse groups and with university student
populations; Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards for
education abroad as developed by the Forum on Education
Abroad, NAFSA, etc.; Active involvement with a professional
organization in the field of international education; At least one
year of experience working with Terra Dotta.
A successful candidate will also possess excellent written and
oral communication skills; the ability to maintain a high level of
organization and must prioritize scheduling of activities and
programs within the department; the ability to work well with the
students, administration and faculty; the ability to understand and
implement the University and State policies using discretionary
judgment; the capacity to maintain a high level of confidentiality
in handling student information; and a high level of intercultural
awareness to manage effectively complex discussions in the event of
student emergency or incident abroad
